Tourism
In earlier days Cemaes Bay was known as Porth Wygyr and was referred to as one of the busiest ports in mediaeval Wales. Today it is a peaceful  harbour, but at one time it was a bustling industrial port exporting china clay, bricks and ochre and importing everything a rural community needed.

Heritage Centre
A couple of doors down from the Cottage is Cemaes Heritage Centre where visitors can learn about the bygone era of Cemaes and get further info about what’s on and how to get about.

St Patrick’s Church
A walk away is Llanbadrig - St Patrick’s Church which is situated a 6 minute drive or pleasant 28 minute walk from the cottage and is known as one of the most scenic locations on Anglesey. A well-known visitor, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, pronounced this site "the most peaceful spot on earth".
